As the Director of Clinical Operations, you will lead clinical operations with a focus on advanced wound care treatments, such as mist therapy and skin grafting, within our network. This is a fully remote role with occasional travel required to oversee operations and training. You will work closely with physicians, clinical staff, and healthcare facility partners to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing management of wound care programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting best practices in wound healing technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clinical Program Oversight:
- Direct clinical operations focusing on wound care treatments, including misting, negative pressure therapy, and skin grafting.
- Supervise the integration of new wound care protocols into Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and other healthcare settings.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare and other regulatory requirements, including reporting and documentation standards.
- Wound Care Program Development:
- Lead the development and expansion of wound care programs, including the adoption of innovative treatments like mist therapy and skin grafting procedures.
- Collaborate with medical teams to refine protocols and procedures for advanced wound healing technologies.
- Provide guidance and support for the implementation of new wound care technologies and ensure that clinical staff is adequately trained.
- Provider and Facility Relations:
- Serve as the point of contact between SNFs, healthcare facilities, and medical providers to ensure the smooth implementation of wound care protocols.
- Work directly with facility leadership and physicians to monitor the success of wound care programs and improve patient outcomes.
- Maintain strong relationships with key personnel in partnering facilities to ensure continuous program growth and success.
- Operational Excellence and Compliance:
- Monitor the clinical performance of providers and facilities, ensuring that wound care protocols are followed and quality standards are met.
- Keep abreast of industry trends in wound care, including coding, billing, and reimbursement issues related to mist therapy and skin grafting.
- Lead efforts to streamline clinical operations and implement technological improvements where appropriate to improve operational efficiency.
- Quality and Metrics Tracking:
- Establish quality metrics for wound care programs, with a focus on healing rates, patient satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness.
- Regularly review program data and trends to identify areas for improvement in clinical performance and operational processes.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to make data-driven adjustments to care protocols and program strategies.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of wound care specialists, ensuring that they are aligned with clinical and operational goals.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the clinical team to stay current with wound care innovations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the wound care team.
Requirements:- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with a focus on wound care in Skilled Nursing Facilities or similar environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare operations, management experience in wound care specialty.
- Strong understanding of wound healing processes, mist therapy, skin grafting, and other advanced wound care treatments.
- Experience with Medicare and Medicaid billing and reimbursement policies specific to wound care services.
- Bachelor's degree in health administration, management or related healthcare fields.
- Proficient in healthcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present in a professional manner to various stakeholders.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead and work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel as required.
